Ocean Data Alliance is a platform that brings people from many professional fields to find and share ocean data that can benefit our ocean’s future. The goal of this project was to create a unique site that spreads awareness to ODA’s mission.
Ocean Data Alliance
The original website was not a full website for the organization, it was for a specific event. We had to consider and plan the structure of the website to incorporate the values of the organization and how to join.
The client also wanted the website to be different from other competitors in his field. Therefore, maps of large cities were used to directly communicate that the organization is working on ocean cities to bring a change to the oceans.

Call To Action
The membership page is our main call to action page. We visualized different tiers of the membership for the customers to compare and make a decision, as well as highlighting the diversity of contributors to the organization.
The process started off with research of the organization and relevant visual ideas, then we gathered our research and design directions to compare and discuss. After meeting with the client, the team chose a final concept and developed the site structure, wireframes and prototype.
The opening animation resembles data gathering together, into forming the name of the organization. A different city map is used for the background of each fold, which differentiates ODA from other ocean organizations, who strives to work with a global network of cities on sharing ocean data.
For the structure, each section on the menu bar has its own strip on the homepage, which opens and collapses to make every content straightforward. Since content needs to be updated frequently in the future, our team created blog posts, projects, and case studies on a database which enables the client to add or delete information easily.
