Branding

​Minimal is a two-day-event that aims at promoting a minimal and sustainable lifestyle to people. I created a brochure that communicates the key values and information of this event.

The challenge is to use limited space (double-sided tabloid size) to compile and design information, including texts, diagrams and images in a way that could best inform the audience about this event, while conveying the main messaging through its visual style.

Closed brochure is compact and easy to carry, could be stacked in shelves, or stand alone on flat surfaces.

When finished using, users could turn the brochure into a recycling bin following the instruction on the front, as a more sustainable second-hand usage.

Prior to establishing the visual identity, I created a persona and carried out visual research on the topic of sustainability, especially recycling. Then, I arranged information including contact, location, schedule, time and complementary texts regarding the event in a clear and concise layout that would best communicate the details of agenda to the audience. I also made sure that there is a consistent visual style throughout the system. I also added a secondary use of the brochure by turning it into a small recycling bin, drawing attention to the main topic of discussion––"recycling".
