GOOD TALK

Website

Good Talk by Mira Jacob is a deeply relatable graphic memoir, which through having conversations with Jacob’s six-year old son, Z, discusses some of our most difficult questions in the society. The goal was to create a landing page  that relates to the graphic style of the book, as well as conveying the central message.

The book already has a strong, distinctive visual style, therefore the site needs to carry out the same style yet not entirely repeating the same element. It is also important to create a memorable landing page that will grab the viewer's attention which could lead to buying the book.

Call To Action

The main CTA is to purchase the book, which can be found in the top right corner, or at the bottom after the viewers have an overview of the book.

Process

The process started off with comprehensive research of campaigns, ads and other publisher's sites relevant to the book. After compiled all information and came up with several design directions, I went with the strongest one and moved on to designing wireframes and prototypes.

PREVIOUS PROJECT
NEXT PROJECT

I created an alternating title strips between "good" and "talk" in a bold font as the website is landed, which intended to establish a conversation between typography that could reflect the central theme of conversation in the book. The structure of the book has taken a conversational form, therefore I have turned the website into a platform where conversations between the viewers and this digital medium takes place.
